CSA Marine is an independent marine surveying company based in Melbourne, Victoria. The company is led by Captain Shakeel Chowdhury, a qualified marine surveyor and member of the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS).
We attend bulk carriers at ports and anchorages around Australia to inspect cargo holds before loading. Our core work is fitness to load surveys for export grain under the Australian Export Regulations, together with cargo hold cleanliness inspections for bulk cargoes.
How we survey
Every hold inspected and reported individually
Previous cargo
Residues of previous cargoes recorded hold by hold.
Rust and scale
Loose rust and scale identified before it can contaminate cargo.
Structure
Condition of frames, plating, ladders and tank tops.
Bilges
Checked clean and dry in every nominated hold.
If a vessel is not fit to load, the report states the exact reasons, so the master and agents know precisely what must be rectified before loading can begin.
